 "Our house in Somerset was built in 1805 with the original thatch covered with slates and it was in very poor state. In 2001, Simon re-thatched the roof from local wheat straw sourced from a local farm and delivered by tractor. Simon is an expert thatcher and it was done at the agreed price. Simon returned in early 2010 to carry out some ridge work, which was showing the normal signs of deterioration. The main slopes have weathered well and reflect the quality of his work. Simon's work is excellent and is always admired by visitors and passers-by. We would recommend Simon to anybody on a personal basis and on a professional level as we are both Chartered Building Surveyors."
